- Routes to Approval
There are currently three viable routes to approval – Standard, Fast Track and Passport
Standard:
Companies assess their standards and working practices against the SIA standard using the Self-Assessment Workbook (SAW). The information provided is verified by an SIA approved assessing body, such as SSAIB. After a successful verification inspection, Approved Contractor Scheme status is granted by the SIA.
Passport
From January 1st 2009, SSAIB will be able to offer a PASSPORT certification scheme to firms that provide Security Guarding, Mobile Patrols, Keyholding, Response Services, Door Supervision and CCTV Management and Operations. This scheme has been accredited by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) as meeting the operational requirements for its Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), and is ideal for firms that wish to achieve or maintain ACS approved status.
